WP 5: Refining of platform design
The project group will do a review of all available documentation to identify missing information.
A failure mode, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) will be performed.
This FMECA will give important input for the optimisation of the platform design (focussing on extreme conditions)
to improve operational safety (risk reduction).
The platform design will be optimised, covering the structure of the power generation system,
the platform structure and dampers/added mass system.
The system for maximum energy caption and energy generation for one point absorber on the one hand and one complete
platform with several point absorbers on the other hand, will be optimized.
Based on the conclusions design criteria for manufacturing will be worked out allowing production at large scale and at low cost.
